About

I have been an artist and designer for over 26 years, specialising in live event painting for the past 11. With my fast, fluid painting style, I create stylish, original portraits and montage paintings that capture the people, atmosphere and special moments of an event as they unfold.

“In today’s digital age, where AI is rapidly advancing, live painting feels more magical and meaningful than ever. At every event, I soak up the atmosphere to truly connect with people, and then I let my paintbrush tell the story. It is a magical process.”

My style of painting is inspired by fashion illustrations, focusing on the stance and clothing – capturing an impression rather than detailed reality.

I am based in Winchester, Hampshire but blessed with a job – and a passion – that takes me all over the world collaborating with talented people, painting at luxury events in incredible locations.

Here are 7 things that got me to where I am today:

DUTCH ROOTS

Dutch people are famously open-minded and entrepreneurial with an innovative outlook. I am proud to say that I was born and raised in Holland. My parents owned two shops next-door to each other and we lived above one. It was exciting and it taught me a lot about business.

BORN TO A FLAMBOYANT TAILOR

My glamorous mum would only ever wear high heels and she didn’t think anything of wearing her own colourful creations in the school playground. When I was a child, she made all my clothes. We would discuss the design and then I would choose the material in the fabric shop. It is no surprise that I love to dress up.

Born to a psychic barber

Spirituality is something I grew up with and it is simply part of my everyday life. As an artist you tap into invisible energies and I am very aware of this. It is so inspiring and quite mind-blowing when you think about it.

A HUGE FAMILY

With 41 uncles & aunts and 44 first cousins you can imagine how noisy and fun family gatherings are. Growing up my parents loved hosting dinner parties and relatives were always coming and going. I am blessed with a fantastic husband who tolerates my creative outbursts and we have three lovely boys.

MA in Textile Design

After I graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague I undertook an MA in Textile Design at Winchester School of Art. I love colour, pattern and texture and I have a broad skill set when it comes to textiles. I believe this comes through in my paintings.

BBC Radio 2

Early on in my career as a live event artist, I was invited to paint the guests on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC radio show and I had a fabulous time painting the artists while they were performing right in front of me. I am so lucky to do a job that I love and to be able to combine all my favourite things in life.

I Love Winchester

England’s old capital, the birthplace of the English language and a beautiful and inspiring city to live in. I arrived in 1998 and after all these years I never get bored of riding my bike through the city centre or diving into the river Itchen. I feel very privileged to live here.
