I am very excited to share with you all the details of my collaboration with Winchester Cathedral, Pilgrims’ School and Brightful Ltd.
I have painted the choristers of www.winchester-cathedral.org.uk and the artwork has been used to create unique Christmas cards. All proceeds will go towards fundraising for the Winchester Cathedral Choral Foundation who hope to support a tour in 2022 and this is the first in a series of fundraisers.

When Richard Coope from www.wearebrightful.com approached me, I was of course immediately keen to take part. We have collaborated on various projects before, including www.thepavilionproject.com and www.winchestercreatives both local Winchester initiatives close to my heart.

Back in 2018 I painted the probational choristers from www.thepilgrims-school.co.uk and I sold the cards and prints to the parents who were all incredibly supportive and excited. This was the inspiration and starting point for this year’s Christmas cards and I enjoyed creating two new paintings of the choir, making sure the girls are also represented this year.

Basingstoke based http://www.talkdesignandprint.com did an outstanding job printing high quality cards with a tight deadline. A small army of mums kindly prepped -including punching hundreds of star shaped holes- and wrapped all the cards.

I am thrilled to say that during our first event at the school the cards and prints sold like hot cakes. Winchester Cathedral kindly allocated a stall to us at the Christmas Market where a small group of dedicated volunteers, including some choristers, have been braving the weather and manning the stall.

At times we have felt like we are in an episode of The Apprentice trying to impress Lord Sugar with our clever marketing skills! It has been a brilliant project and collaboration of which I am very proud. I can’t wait to see our final total (and will we win the Apprentice?).
We have already been thinking of ideas to continue our collaboration and perhaps I will work as an artist in residence at Winchester Cathedral throughout 2022, capturing all the major events in the cathedral’s diary? Maybe a calendar next year?

For now, we are focussing on selling as many Christmas cards and prints as possible. If you would like to support this fabulous cause, then please get in touch with me directly lucy@liveeventartist.co.uk
Prints are £20 each
10 x A6 cards of the four choristers is £8
5 x A5 cards of the choir is £10
Let’s see if we can smash our £2500 target and send those talented children on tour next year!
